Applicant Background
Lead applicant must identify as Black
STEM-Driven
The Business model must utilize Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math.
Pre-Seed & Seed Startups
The company must identify as a pre-seed (Idea) or seed (Growth) Startup.
Black Leadership
The lead applicant must be a co-founder in the company.

Ideation Stream
Are you in the process of conceptualizing and refining your STEM business idea?
This stream is for aspiring STEM entrepreneurs with the knowledge to transform their innovative ideas into successful ventures.
Outcomes include:
Learn how to conduct market research
Validate your ideas
Create a solid business plan
Growth Stream
Are you an established STEM startup and have already achieved some level of traction in the market?
Startups in this stream will receive tailored mentorship and maximum exposure to investors and customers
Outcomes include:
Optimize business processes
Secure additional funding
Recruit talent

The Nobellum Innovator Program is an inclusive accelerator designed to support Black entrepreneurs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) across Canada and internationally.
Its mission is to empower Black innovators to launch and scale sustainable ventures, aiming to establish at least 100 Black-owned businesses in STEM by 2025.

Participants in the program receive comprehensive support, including:
Training and Workshops: Educational sessions tailored to the needs of Black entrepreneurs.
Mentorship: Guidance from experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts.
Funding Opportunities: Access to funding and investment through pitch events and networking.
Resources: Access to facilities, conference tickets, and boothing opportunities.

Yes, participation in the Nobellum Innovator Program is free of charge. There are no direct costs or fees associated with joining the program.

Each year, a select group of Black-led businesses is accepted into the program. While the exact number may vary annually, the program is committed to supporting a significant cohort of startups to achieve its goal of launching at least 100 Black-owned STEM businesses by 2025.

No, you do not need to be based in Toronto. The program is open to both domestic and international applicants. While some events, like pitch competitions, may take place in person, international participants have the option to submit their pitches virtually.
