Linkedin HQ Workshop

The Nobellum Cohort of Black Innovators in STEM had an amazing workshop and a very insightful roundtable discussion at LinkedIn HQ in #Toronto. Thank you to the leaders of LinkedIn's Black Inclusion Group Sorit Seid, Nicole Antoine, Kristin Johnson for being change-makers and advocating for our mandate to support the startup of 100 Black owned businesses in STEM by 2025!

We loved having our program grads Ehi Agbonlahor, Coaches Abdul-Aziz, Kate Withers Hess, PhD and Community Partners Pierre Williams come out to share their knowledge and expertise with our startups.


Naija Fest - Brampton

With performances, presentations and magical moments for youth - this celebration of Nigerian culture and call for civic responsibility featured a fireside chat moderated by Ehi Agbonlahor, the founder of Anutio and one of our Nobellum Program Grads!


Diversity & Entrepreneurship Panel at Procurement Canada

The Procurement Canada Diversity Panel featured Nobellum’s new Marketing Director, Laura Scarlett Martin.

She highlighted some of the challenges black entrepreneurs face when it comes to accessing capital and credit, and opened the door for further partnerships with other change-makers in the ecosystem like the Afro-Caribbean Business Network. 

Afri Future Tech Summit 2023

The Afri Future Tech Summit 2023 on October 14th was hosted by Afrifursa under the leadership of Tapfuma Musewe, MBA PMP - a gathering of remarkable minds, innovation, and success. 

They curated an amazing summit that united Canadian and African tech ecosystems, featured pitches from Canadian and African founders, panel discussions on investing in Africa and an epic fashion show with an array of African styles. 


BFUTR Tech Conference

BFUTR was the biggest show-out of black tech professionals in Toronto to date! Nobellum made a massive presence on the Entrepreneurship Square and revelled in the magnificent display of black tech talent.

Big shoutout to BPTN/OBSIDI for putting on a truly grand event that truly sparked a massive wave of black tech employment and momentum. 


City of Toronto Small Business Summit Tradeshow & Innovathon Pitch

The icing on the cake was the Nobellum Innovation Pitch at City of Toronto Small Business Forum City of Toronto, held at Metro Convention Centre. With over 7000 registered and a formidable presence on the tradeshow floor thanks to our sponsors at BMO, our Innovators gained even more traction and momentum!

EVolve Hackathon Pitch Competition - November 24-26, 2023

This event was held in person at the Highland Hall Event Centre University of Toronto Scarborough. 

The EVolve Hackathon is an innovation challenge, where a consortium of post-secondary schools from the EaRTH District, community members, and the general public compete in a hackathon on a topic in Electric Vehicles & transportation which include automation, power, battery, sustainability, infrastructure and more! 

They were looking for Judges and Industry Experts for the Expert Zone! 

These people were individuals that had experience with EV, hackathons, coding, business, entrepreneurship, communication, and presentation skills. These experts had a designed two-to-three-hour schedule to help the participants with their ideation process and presentations. Participants could connect with the expert multiple times within the designated time in twenty-minute intervals.  The Expert Zone was open on Friday November 24 from 4pm - 8 pm, and on Saturday November 25, 11 am - 6 pm,
